This family is always so much fun to photograph because they have fun and enjoy the process. We had a wonderful time taking pictures until the sun gave us no alternative but to stop!

This cutie often makes me work hard to get her photograph but it’s always worth it because she has the cutest expressions:
After some pictures with mommy and daddy we went over to grandma and grandpa’s house to play with the baby goats:
Isn’t this wind here in West Texas crazy?! We’ve been out of town for a week and when we returned I realized that the reports of windy weather weren’t exxagerated at all. Perhaps this means March will be calm and peaceful. What do you think?!
I won’t bombard with you with boring pictures from my vacation… well, because I only took a few! We spent time with my husband’s family and then headed to Albuquerque to spend Christmas with some of my family. It was an enjoyable visit but the only time I got out my camera was on the day we went skiing at Sandia Peak. I would offer up a token photo of myself on skiis except I spent far more time on my backside on the snow than I did on the skiis! I’m having a very hard time grasping skiing, but I won’t give up. I’m not too old to learn new tricks! I’ll save the pictures for when I can actually ski.
I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday and is as excited for the new year as I am. E-mails and phone calls that came in while I was away will be returned promptly on Monday. I’m working up a special treat to share here on the blog that will feature some of my favorite people on the planet - my family and customer friends. Stay tuned for a fun trip down memory lane that will include many pictures not previously seen here on the blog!

Are any of you Saturday Night Live fans? Do you remember that skit called ‘Random Thoughts by Jack Handy?’ Interesting, and usually odd, thoughts would scroll across the screen while cheesy music played. It always used to crack me up because the thoughts were so completely random.
It’s a rainy Friday and it feels like a good day to be random, Jack Handy style. I’ll spare you the cheesy music though.
- If your child talks you into eating a huge gumball from the quarter machine at the local Mexican restaurant, it will make your teeth green and you’ll feel silly when have to talk to the checker at the grocery store on your next errand.
- If you thoughtlessly throw your used gum out the window while driving down the highway, you will step in gum in the parking lot at your next stop. It will be over 90 degrees on the hot pavement. The gum will make a huge mess on your shoe. You will deserve it and may even believe in karma.
- If you go into Target for just an extension cord you will come out with a game for your daughter, light bulbs, granola bars, note cards, three gift bags and hairspray. Please don’t forget the extension cord!
- If your husband rearranges his entire afternoon schedule so he can be home to sign for delivery of your new computer since you can’t be there, the delivery man will show up very late… 15 minutes after you get home.
Have a great weekend everyone! Please keep our neighbors in Houston in your thoughts and prayers as Hurricane Ike prepares to wreak havoc on them.
I love this little blog because it’s not only a great way to share with everyone who checks in for sneak peeks from their sessions and for those in the community to drop by and see what’s new, but it’s also a way to share a bit about myself with all of you out there in blogland who take the time to visit so often.
The thing is… have you ever tried to write about yourself? It’s really quite awkward! I assume if people make time to type in the address or add me to their blogroll that they must be interested in me and my work so from time to time I share a bit about myself, no matter how strange it feels.
I came across this little ‘quiz’ on another blog that I read and I thought it was interesting so I stole/borrowed it to share here. Here is more information about me than you may be interested to know!

I FEAR … the dark.
I HEAR … utter and complete silence, it’s a beautiful thing.
