It’s that time of year - love is in the air and couples are planning their summer weddings! Kelsey and Allison are no exception. They invited me out to Allison’s family’s place to take some engagement portraits. We had a great time taking pictures using all the amazing aged wooden barns and open grassy fields.

Kelsey and Allison met at Lubbock Christian University. Kelsey has already graduated and Allison will be claiming her degree in December. An exciting year for this great couple!

The wind blew hard early in the day but calmed down to a gentle breeze just in time for our evening session. I love shots like these that beautifully portray the wide open spaces and vast blue skies that make West Texas a great place to call home.

Bethenie and John met in Hawaii and will eventually wind up in Italy. He’s in the military and I suppose if I was going to get married and move overseas Italy wouldn’t be too bad!

They’re a very sweet couple and we had a great time in downtown Muleshoe hanging out and getting some great shots to celebrate their engagement. Bethenie has such awesome taste in clothes and shoes!

We laughed and had a great time, but did get serious for a few too:

I owe this family such a tremendous debt of gratitude that it would be mushy to put it all here on the blog. Suffice it to say they are such kind and wonderful people and have treated me with such graciousness that I will never forget it. People like this family remind me, once again, of why I love living in rural America - they personify what it’s all about.

They have a beautiful family, two lovely granddaughters, a wonderful son-in-law, two great daughter-in-laws and a boyfriend who makes daughter Jacy smile her cute grin in a way that I thought was really sweet!

I hope one day Danny lets me forget how easily I put my foot in my mouth! Thank goodness he has a good sense of humor.

I love this picture. It was Jandi’s idea and I loved it… a great representation of what life for many in this area is about:
Ms. Kobi was all done with having her picture taken, until we traveled to the dairy and she saw the cows. Once we got there, she was completely enamored and didn’t care one bit about many pictures we took. She loves to hang out at the dairy with her grandpa and is obviously very at home there. The boots are a part of daily life at the dairy…

And a little bonus since this family waited so patiently while I went out of town two different times before they got their sneak peek…
Kobi loved giving the pony treats:

Her cousin wasn’t quite as enthusiastic, but did give it a try!

He’s from one side of the border, she’s from another. Texas and New Mexico that is. He’s from Farwell, Texas and she’s from Texico, New Mexico and those of you from around here know the only thing separating the two is a set of railroad tracks!
This cute couple is getting married soon and we had a great time taking advantage of the fact that they’re from towns that literally saddle the border between two states. We started out in one state, ran across the border for a few more in his hometown and had an awesome time just hanging out and taking pictures.
We got some traditional shots during their session, but I chose to share a few of the more unique and fun shots from their session since this couple was so unique and fun!

I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the soon-to-be groom Michael who saved me from being stranded!
